KARACHI: Sindh apex committee has on Thursday decided to get military training for 4000 police officials.
The committee also allowed major crackdown against street criminals while 10,000 CCTV cameras were approved for Karachi. In the apex committee meeting presided over by Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah, important decisions were made. The meeting was attended by Sindh governor, Karachi corps commander, Rangers Director General, Sindh Inspector General, senior ministers and other officials.
The meeting decided to install 10,000 CCTV cameras throughout Karachi. It also decided to resolve the land-grabbing cases as soon as possible. Immediate employment of prosecutors was also agreed upon in the meeting. Briefing the media after the meeting, Information Advisor to Sindh government Moula Bakhsh Chandio said that street crimes were discussed in the meeting. He said that street crimes were the nurseries for terrorism and strong action must be taken against street criminals.
