ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar has taken notice of the complaint that police are pressing tra
nsgender peo

An NGO “Vision Pakistan” submitted an application on behalf of tra
nsgender people alleging that the M
ardan police were raiding the houses of tra
nsgender people and harassing them to leave Mardan.
Police are also allegedly pressing the landlords who rented their houses to tra
nsgender people.
Reportedly, police were forced to take action by people who are not prepared to treat tra
nsgender people as human beings.
The CJp directed the M
ardan district and sessions judge to take up the
matter and to apprise the Supreme Court in this regard.
Complainant tra
nsgender Alisha and Sidra appeared before the judge. The Operations Wing SP was also summoned.
The police said tra
nsgender people would not be harassed and full protection would be provided to them.
In view of such assurance given by the police and on satisfaction of complainants Alishah and Sidra, the
matter was disposed of, clarifying that in case of any violation in future by police or the landlords they can again bring the
matter to
the notice of the court.
