ISLAMABAD: The government has earmarked
an amount of Rs 48,701.460 million for completion of 23 projects in the health sector under the Public
Sector Development
Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2017-18.
The health sector’s 23 projects include 18 on-going and five new projects. According to the PSDP document, with inclusion of the province’s share of Rs 5,700 million in Expanded
Programme on Immunisation (EPI), the total amount will touch the figure of Rs 54,401.460 million.
Likewise,
an amount of Rs 16,400 mill
ion has been allocated to the National Health
Programme for Family Planning and Primary Healthcare, while Rs 7,705.145 mill
ion has been earmarked for Population Welfare
Programmes of provinces.
Similarly, Rs 7,400 mill
ion has been allocated for Expanded
Programme on Immunisation (EPI), Islamabad while Rs 3,000 mill
ion has been earmarked for the Prime Minister’s National Health
Programme.
An amount of Rs 1,046.219 mill
ion has been allocated for National Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health
Programme (MNCH), while Rs 684 mill
ion has been allocated for the Prime Minister’s
Programme for Prevention and Control of Hepatitis. For completion of National
Programme for Prevention and Control of Blindness
an amount of Rs 247 mill
ion has been allocated, while Rs 124 mill
ion has been allocated for National TB Control
Programme.
In schemes, the government has allocated
an amount of Rs 800 million for the Prime Minister’s
Programme for New Hospitals (Phase-I), while Rs 7,000 mill
ion has been allocated for Prime Minister’s National Health
Programme (Phase-II).
Similarly,
an amount of Rs 1,317.52 mill
ion has been allocated for the Prime Minister’s
Programme for New Hospitals, master planning, design, medical equipment, planning and construction super
vision, services for construction of 46 hospitals of 500-bed, 25-bed and 100-bed across the country.
An amount of Rs 500 mill
ion has also been allocated for National Preventive Health
Programme while Rs 83.380 mill
ion has been allocated for strengthening of Health Services Academy, Islamabad.
